My name is Peter Schnabel, I found my love for photography to create images as a young adult, winning awards using 35mm film and I continued this passion as a hobby for over 40 years as my career found me moving down a different path as a software engineer. One of my life defining positions was the opportunity to work at my dream company, Eastman Kodak where I worked on developing some of the earliest image sensors found in your modern digital cameras.
I used my career choices to feed my other passion for travel and have moved around to many places since graduating college, living in Europe for over 8 years. This passion for travel has taken me to many cities in South America, Europe and here in the USA. The images I create also reflect my love for nature and wildlife where capturing a story and mood is what I strive to create.
Where its understanding the culture of a country I travel to thru its people, or the how nature and animals compliment each other is what I try to portray in my art.
I finally decided to return to my earlier passion for art in photography and received a degree from the NYIP, the oldest and successful photography school in the world. I started by becoming a wedding, events and commercial photographer for over 10 years, all the while creating my fine art work. I was published on the cover of Dressage journals as the official photographer in northern New England and was the photographer for a commercial world wide equestrian riding accessories catalog.
Some of my fine art images work were purchased by Swarovski Jewelers, Schwab and other retail businesses.
I am now focusing mainly on my fine art work wanting to share my stories, experiences and vision with others so that we can share common experiences. I hope you find some images for your home or business to decorate your walls that bring back fond memories of a place you have been or want to go, something to look at that brings you a sense of peace or just a big smile.
